Medwiki is a project destinated to construct in a collaborative way a knowledge base about Medicine and another areas of the human health like Dentistry, Nursing, Nutrition etc, on many languages and localized for many countries.
Objective
The objective of Medwiki is to provide a free and open knowledge base of human health easing the access to this kind of information by professionals and students of those sciences.
History
Medwiki has been created in 2006 by Davidson Paulo as a gift to his girlfriend Natalia Wanick - who coursed 3rd period of Medicine on Fluminense Federal University in Brazil - as a way to turn her studies less tiring and more efficient, based on the fact we have more easiness to learn what we write (and more difficult to forget that) and write about that we like is a extremely productive task (generally amused too).
The word "Medwiki" is a join of the words "Medicine" and "wiki", its pronnounce is very similar to "médico" (doctor, in Brazilian Portuguese).
